DopaLoop Android Privacy Policy

DopaLoop for Android is a local-first beta. The current Android app stores goals, habits, check-ins, brain dumps, transcripts, and local insight calculations on your device.

Data stored by the app

The Android beta stores app data such as goals, habits, check-in dates, intensity values, optional check-in notes, brain dump text, local transcripts, catalog selections, and local onboarding state. This data is used to show your dashboard, local analytics, and progress indicators.

What never leaves your device

DopaLoop does not upload your goals, habits, check-ins, notes, brain dumps, audio recordings, transcripts, or local insight results. They are not sent to DopaLoop, Google for reflection, or any AI service. They are stored locally on your Android device unless you decide to include something manually in a feedback message.

Voice recordings and transcription

Voice brain dumps are recorded into private app storage on your device. They are transcribed locally on the device. Audio is not uploaded for transcription.

After a successful local transcript is saved, the audio recording is kept temporarily for up to 7 days and then removed from local app storage to free space. The transcript remains local until you delete the brain dump or clear local app data.

If local transcription is not available or does not complete, the recording stays on your device so it is not silently lost. You can delete the brain dump at any time.

Data sent to DopaLoop

The Android beta does not automatically send your goals, habits, check-ins, or notes to DopaLoop. There is no DopaLoop server account that receives or stores your app data.

If you choose to send beta feedback by email or through the feedback page, you decide what to include. Please avoid sending sensitive journal content. Feedback emails may include device/app context if you use the in-app feedback action, so that bugs can be understood without adding an analytics SDK.

Beta tester email addresses

If you request Play Store beta access, your Google account email address is used only to manage beta/preview access and beta communication. The beta group may later become a preview group for new features alongside the full Play Store version. The beta version remains free. DopaLoop does not sell beta tester email addresses or share them with third parties for advertising.

Third-party services

The current Android beta uses Google Play for distribution and optional beta access. DopaLoop also uses Google's ML Kit GenAI Prompt API only to check whether optional on-device reflection support is available on a device. This does not upload your goals, habits, check-ins, notes, brain dumps, audio recordings, transcripts, or local insight results.

Google documents that ML Kit Android SDKs can collect technical diagnostics and usage metrics such as device information, app information, identifiers, performance metrics, API configuration, feature version, event type, error codes, and configured languages for GenAI features. These are technical SDK metrics. They are not the content of your DopaLoop data and should not allow conclusions about what you wrote, recorded, tracked, or checked in.

What Google ML Kit may see

According to Google's ML Kit Android data disclosure, ML Kit SDKs may collect the following technical diagnostics and usage data:

  • Device information, such as manufacturer, model, OS version, and form factor.
  • App information, such as package name and app version.
  • Identifiers used for diagnostics and SDK operation.
  • Performance metrics, such as latency, initialization, and model/runtime behavior.
  • API configuration and feature version.
  • Event type and error codes.
  • For GenAI features, configured language settings.

Google ML Kit does not need your DopaLoop content for this. Your goals, habits, check-ins, notes, brain dumps, recordings, transcripts, and local insight results stay on your device and are not uploaded for reflection or transcription.

If future Android builds add subscriptions, crash reporting, cloud sync, or another external service, this policy and the Google Play Data safety declaration will be updated before release.

Deleting local data

Because there are no DopaLoop accounts, there is no account deletion process. You can delete local goals, habits, and check-ins from the Android app settings. You can also remove all local app data using Android system settings by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app.
